Pixar's Zoetrope

zoetrope is a device that produces an illusion of action from a strip of pictures that are slightly different, which appears to move The  zoetrope was invented in 1834 by British mathematician William George Horner. He called it the "Daedalum," which translated to the "Wheel of Life" 

Persistent of vision is a series of still images that trick your mind into thinking it's moving
